The Kyoto Protocol is related to climate change.
The Kyoto Protocol of 1997, under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, set binding targets for industrialised countries to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Refugees and internally displaced persons are dealt with by other conventions and by the UNHCR, and nuclear power is dealt with by the IAEA and other treaties.
The treaty came into force in 2005 and the United States did not ratify it, which weakened its effect.
