The National Education Policy 2020 says every child will learn at least one vocation and be exposed to several more, starting from Grade 6, including a ten-day bagless period with internships with local vocational experts such as carpenters, gardeners and potters, between Grades 6 and 8. The aim is that at least half of all learners have exposure to vocational education by 2025.
Grades 8, 10 and 12 are later than the starting point the policy sets.
