The key initiative is to learn Indian languages at elementary level.
Under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, each state is paired with another, and in schools children learn simple sentences and expressions in the language of the paired state, along with its culture, songs and food. The emphasis is on basic, elementary-level familiarity with other Indian languages.
The programme does not aim to translate all literature, share only common phonetics, or teach speaking skills in every language.
