Value of radius for fifth orbital of hydrogen is (first orbital radius is 0.53 Å) :
Answer: D
The radius of the fifth orbit is 13.25 Å.
In the Bohr model the orbit radius grows as the square of the principal quantum number, \(r_{n} = n^{2}r_{1}\):
\[ \begin{aligned} r_{5} &= 5^{2} \times 0.53 \\ &= 25 \times 0.53 = 13.25\ \text{\AA} \end{aligned} \]
The value 0.529 Å is the first orbit itself, and 0.26 Å and 8.4 Å do not follow from the \(n^{2}\) rule.
