Assertion (A): Freezing drizzle is regarded as an especially hazardous icing condition.
Reason (R): Its large droplets run back beyond the protected leading edge before freezing.
Answer: A
Both are true and the reason gives the danger, and de-icing systems protect only the forward surfaces. Ice forming behind them disrupts the airflow where nothing can remove it. Certification standards now address these larger droplet sizes.
