Thick coax cable has maximum .......................... segments.
Answer: C
Thick coaxial cable allows segments of at most 500 m.
Thick coax (thicknet) is the cable of the original 10BASE5 Ethernet. The name encodes its limits: 10 Mbps, baseband signalling, and a maximum segment length of about 500 metres before a repeater is needed.
Thin coax (thinnet, 10BASE2) is limited to about 185 metres, roughly the '2' of its name, and twisted-pair Ethernet (10BASE-T) to 100 metres per segment, which is the trap in the 100 m option. 10 m and 50 m are far shorter than any of these standard Ethernet segment limits.
