Multiplexing is used in :
Answer: B
In the classic textbook pairing, multiplexing is used in circuit switching.
In a circuit-switched network such as the telephone system, a dedicated channel is set up between two parties for the whole call. The trunk lines between exchanges carry many such circuits at once by frequency-division or time-division multiplexing, each call getting its own frequency band or time slot. This is the textbook pairing of multiplexing with switching.
Packet-switched networks also share links, but by statistical multiplexing of packets, which textbooks treat under packet switching rather than as multiplexing in this classic sense. On that classic pairing the packet-switching options and 'data switching', which is not a standard switching type, are marked wrong.
