State whether the following is true or false.
The volume advantage of a PFR over a CSTR grows with the reaction order.
Answer: B
A higher order makes the rate fall away more steeply with conversion, which penalises operating at the exit concentration. For a zero order reaction the two reactors need the same volume. The steeper the fall, the greater the penalty.
