MICR stands for
Answer: D
The keyed answer is None of the above.
MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. It is the technology banks use to read the cheque number, bank code and account details printed along the bottom of a cheque in special magnetic ink, so cheques can be sorted and processed by machine.
The machine that reads these characters is often loosely called an MICR reader, but the R in the abbreviation stands for Recognition, and none of the three expansions offered gives it. 'Code Reader' and 'Cases Reader' are wrong on two words.
