Which among the following is the oldest surviving rock-cut cave in India ?
Answer: D
The Barabar Caves are the oldest.
Cut into granite in Jehanabad district of Bihar in the third century BC under Ashoka, they were given to the Ajivika sect. Their polished interiors produce a remarkable echo, and they suggested the Marabar caves of E.M. Forster's A Passage to India.
