In which of the following paintings, a paste made of Zinc Oxide and Arabic Gum called “gesso paste” is used?
Answer: D
It is Mysore painting.
The gesso paste of zinc oxide and gum arabic is laid on to build a low relief, which is then covered with thin gold foil - giving the figures their raised, glowing outline. Tanjore painting uses a thicker gesso with gold foil and inset stones.
