Where was Asia's first Export Processing Zone (EPZ) established in India?
Answer: C
Asia's first Export Processing Zone was set up at Kandla.
The Kandla Free Trade Zone in Gujarat, set up in 1965, was the first export processing zone in Asia. It was created to promote exports by giving units duty-free imports and simplified procedures.
The Santa Cruz Electronics EPZ in Mumbai came later, in 1973, and the zones at Cochin and Chennai followed in the 1980s. Kandla's zone was later converted into a Special Economic Zone.
