How many major ports are there in India?

India has thirteen major ports.
They are Kandla (Deendayal), Mumbai, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mormugao, New Mangalore, Cochin, Kamarajar, Chennai, Tuticorin, Visakhapatnam, Paradip, Kolkata-Haldia and Port Blair. Major ports are administered by the Centre; the roughly 200 minor ports are with the states.
