The Valley of Flowers lies on Nanda Devi.
It is in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1988. The alpine meadow blooms between July and September; the botanist Frank Smythe stumbled on it in 1931.
