When did Vasco-da-Gama come to India ?

He arrived in 1498.
Vasco da Gama reached Kappad near Calicut on 20 May 1498, guided across the Arabian Sea from Malindi, and was received by the Zamorin. It was the first sea route from Europe to India round the Cape.
