Promotion of Existing Information Systems & Services and not to dwell upon subjects already handled was an objective of which information system ?
Answer: C
This was an objective of NISSAT.
The National Information System for Science and Technology, set up in 1977 by the Government of India, was designed as a coordinating system rather than a new information centre. Its objectives included promoting and strengthening existing information systems and services and avoiding duplication, which is why it supported sectoral centres such as those for leather and food technology instead of covering their subjects again.
INIS (International Nuclear Information System) and AGRIS (for agriculture) are international, subject-based systems that collect literature in their fields, and DESIDOC is the defence information centre of DRDO. None was set up mainly to promote other existing systems.
