In the following question, which one set of letters when sequentially placed at the gaps in the given letter series shall complete it?

Filling the gaps gives dcba repeated three times. The five missing positions read in order are c, d, b, d, a. The known letters already show d and b in the first block and a and c in the second, which is enough to identify the four-letter cycle before any option is tested.
