State whether the following is true or false.
Every value computed during expression translation must be stored in memory.
Answer: B
Correct answer: False
Most intermediate values are held in temporaries which the register allocator will place in registers, and never reach memory at all. Storing every value would make the generated code far slower than it needs to be, and avoiding that is a large part of what code generation is for.
