What does PEAS stand for in describing a task environment?
Answer: A
Specifying the performance measure, the environment, the actuators and the sensors characterises a task fully enough that an agent can be designed for it. Writing the PEAS description first forces the designer to state what success means before choosing any technique. The other expansions describe no standard framework. A checklist that must be completed before design begins is a modest but effective way of preventing the commonest error, which is optimising the wrong thing.
