Which device determines an aircraft’s direction using the earth’s magnetic field and a rotating coil?
Answer: B
It is the earth inductor compass.
A coil rotated in the earth's magnetic field generates a current whose size depends on the aircraft's heading. Being electrical, it does not swing about in turns as a magnetic compass does; Charles Lindbergh used one across the Atlantic.
