What will be the output of the program?
public class Demo71
{
private static void report()
{
String s = "Mississippi";
int count = 0;
for (int i = 0; i < s.length(); i++) if (s.charAt(i) == 's') count++;
System.out.println(count);
}
public static void main(String[] args)
{
report();
}
}
Answer: C
Mississippi contains four lower case s characters, in two adjacent pairs. Counting with charAt compares chars directly, so no string allocation happens. The two i characters and the two p characters are not counted, which is where a quick guess of 2 comes from.
