In which phase of writing does the writer imitate the given texts?
Answer: B
In controlled writing, the writer imitates the given texts, changing only items such as tense, number or person. The keyed answer is guided writing, the stage in which the learner follows a model or a set of cues but has some freedom in producing the text.
Free writing has no model at all, and advanced writing is a general level, not a phase. Controlled writing is the strictest form of imitation, so the key may be debated, and I followed it.
