BOY APAA ZQCDA ?
Answer: A
The next term is YREGEA.
Each term is made from the previous one by shifting its letters by -1, +1, +2, +3, ... in turn and then adding an A at the end:
- BOY: B-1 = A, O+1 = P, Y+2 = A (wrapping round), then add A: APAA.
- APAA: A-1 = Z, P+1 = Q, A+2 = C, A+3 = D, then add A: ZQCDA.
- ZQCDA: Z-1 = Y, Q+1 = R, C+2 = E, D+3 = G, A+4 = E, then add A: YREGEA.
Each term is also one letter longer than the one before, so the answer must have six letters, which rules out YRFHE and YREGE. YRDEFA has six letters but does not follow the shifts.
