Which of the following is a disadvantage of natural lime over modern cement?

A disadvantage of natural lime compared with modern cement is its lower compressive strength. Lime mortar and concrete gain strength slowly by carbonation and stay weaker than cement-based ones. Eco-friendliness, cost-effectiveness and self-healing (lime can reseal small cracks by recarbonation) are listed as advantages of lime, not drawbacks.
