What is the subtitle of ‘The Well-Wrought Urn’?
Answer: A
The subtitle of The Well Wrought Urn, by Cleanth Brooks (1947), is Studies in the Structure of Poetry. The book is a landmark of New Criticism and it reads ten poems closely, from Donne to Yeats. 'A Book for Everyone and No One' is the subtitle of Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, and the other subtitles belong to other works. Brooks's book of 1947 reads poems such as Donne's The Canonization, Herrick's Corinna's Going A-Maying and Keats's Ode on a Grecian Urn as a unity of tensions, which is the New Critical method. The other subtitles belong to Nietzsche, Frazer's The Golden Bough, and Hawthorne is not involved.
