Who said regarding the aim of poetry, "it begins in delight and ends in wisdom"?
Answer: A
Robert Frost said that a poem begins in delight and ends in wisdom, in his essay The Figure a Poem Makes (1939). Whitman, Eliot and Yeats are not the source of this line. The remark is from Frost's essay on how a poem is made, where he adds that it ends in a clarification of life. Whitman, Eliot and Yeats all wrote criticism, but this saying is not theirs, and the distractors are poets whom a candidate may link to theories of poetry.
