Who defined poetry as "Playing Tennis without net"?
Answer: A
Robert Frost said that writing free verse is like playing tennis with the net down. Hemingway, Henry James and Whitman are not associated with this remark, and Whitman was in fact the poet of free verse. So Frost is the answer. Frost made the remark about free verse, and it fits his own view that a poem needs the meter and the rhyme as the net which gives the game its rules. Hemingway wrote prose, Henry James wrote novels and criticism, and Whitman wrote free verse, so he is the poet at whom the remark is aimed.
