Visual balance in a map layout is achieved by
Answer: B
Correct answer: distributing visual weight across the sheet
Visual weight is not the same as area: a small block of dense black type pulls the eye as hard as a much larger pale panel, and a saturated colour outweighs a muted one. Balance is achieved when those weights are distributed so that no part of the sheet feels heavier than the rest - which is why counting elements or matching sizes misses the point entirely.
