The bearing from P to Q is 300 degrees. What is the back bearing?
Answer: C
Because 300 exceeds 180, the 180 degrees is subtracted rather than added, giving 120. Adding would produce 480 degrees, which must then be reduced by a full circle of 360 to reach the same answer of 120, so either route works if it is followed through.
