State whether the following is true or false.
A compass bearing taken in the field can be plotted on a map without any adjustment.
Answer: C
The compass reads from magnetic north while the sheet is drawn on grid north, so the declination and convergence must be applied. Omitting the correction puts the plotted line several degrees out, which matters over any distance.
