What will come in place of the ‘?’ in the following equation, if ‘+’ and ‘−’ are interchanged and ‘×’ and ‘÷’ are interchanged?
2 ÷ 4 − 10 × 2 + 3 = ?
Answer: D
The value is 10. Interchange the signs as instructed: plus and minus swap, and multiplication and division swap. The expression 2 ÷ 4 − 10 × 2 + 3 becomes 2 × 4 + 10 ÷ 2 − 3. Following the usual order of operations: 2 × 4 = 8 and 10 ÷ 2 = 5, so the value is 8 + 5 - 3 = 10. The answers 15, 6 and 0 come from applying only part of the swap or from working left to right.
