To balance the following, replace stars (*) by mathematical operations :
(15 * 8) * (30 * 3) * 130
The sequence of the operations is
Answer: C
The sequence is ×, +, ÷, =.
Put the signs in order into (15 * 8) * (30 * 3) * 130 and test:
\[ \begin{aligned} (15 \times 8) + (30 \div 3) &= 120 + 10 \\ &= 130 \end{aligned} \]
The other sequences do not balance: ×, ÷, + gives \(120 \div 33\), not 130; +, ×, ÷ gives \(23 \times 10 = 230\); and +, ÷, × gives \(23 \div 90\). Only the third sequence makes both sides equal.
