The group is the Essel Group.
Subhash Chandra's Essel Group launched Zee TV in 1992, India's first private Hindi satellite channel. The group went on to hold interests on both sides of the television business: production and broadcasting through Zee Entertainment, and distribution through the DTH service Dish TV and the cable network Siti Cable.
Zee TV is the channel itself, not the media group that owns it. The Tata Group's television interest is the DTH platform Tata Sky, not a 1992 channel, and the Times Group is known chiefly for newspapers such as The Times of India.
