What is the primary function of the memory manager in an operating system ?
Answer: B
The memory manager's main function is to allocate and manage memory space.
It keeps track of which parts of memory are in use, allocates memory to processes when they need it, frees it when they finish, and handles swapping, paging and protection.
Managing CPU use is the scheduler's job, file permissions are handled by the file system, and input/output by the device manager.
