Why is the antenna often placed at the bottom of a mobile handset?
Answer: C
Distance from the head reduces the specific absorption rate and the detuning that tissue proximity causes, at the cost of the hand gripping that end. It is a compromise between two absorbers rather than an escape from either. Board width, battery placement and available volume all influence the layout but none is the governing reason. Where an antenna is placed inside a product is usually decided by the human body rather than by electromagnetics alone.
