In MS Word, what does the Split command on the View tab do?
Answer: B
Correct answer: Divides the window so two parts of the same document can be seen at once
Split divides the window into two panes, each of which can be scrolled independently through the same document. It is used to consult one part while editing another - checking a table on page 2 while writing about it on page 20. The split is removed by clicking Remove Split or by double-clicking the dividing bar. Neighbouring commands on the View tab do related things. New Window opens a second window on the same document, which allows different views - Outline in one and Print Layout in the other. View Side by Side places two different documents next to each other, with Synchronous Scrolling moving both together, which is how two versions are compared by eye. The second option describes no Word command at all; the third is Split Table on the Table Layout tab; and the fourth is the Columns setting on the Layout tab.
