In MS Word, a header is text that appears
Answer: A
Correct answer: at the top margin of every page
A header occupies the top margin and repeats on every page; a footer does the same at the bottom. They typically carry the document title, chapter name, page number, date or author. Word allows the repetition to be varied. Different first page suppresses the header on a title page; different odd and even pages gives facing pages distinct headers, as printed books do. Dividing a document into sections allows entirely different headers in different parts - but each new section starts out linked to the previous one, and Link to Previous must be turned off before the header can differ. That single detail accounts for most of the confusion users have with headers. Page numbers inserted in a header are fields, updating automatically as pages are added. The header area is opened by double-clicking in the top margin and closed by double-clicking in the body.
