In MS Word, which shortcut is used to justify a paragraph?
Answer: C
Correct answer: Ctrl + J
Ctrl + J justifies a paragraph, aligning the text flush with both the left and the right margins by adjusting the spacing between words. The four alignment shortcuts belong together and are worth learning as a set: Ctrl + L for left, Ctrl + E for centre, Ctrl + R for right and Ctrl + J for justify. Only the centre shortcut is not the initial of its own name, which is what makes it the one most often forgotten. Justification is the standard alignment for books, newspapers and formal reports, since even margins look orderly. Its drawback is uneven word spacing, which produces visible white channels down the page called rivers, especially in narrow columns. Turning on hyphenation reduces the effect. Left alignment, with its ragged right edge, keeps word spacing constant and is generally easier to read on screen.
