In MS Word, which of these is a valid way to select a whole paragraph with the mouse?
Answer: B
Correct answer: Triple-click anywhere within it
Triple-clicking anywhere inside a paragraph selects the whole of it. The mouse selection methods form a consistent set worth learning. Double-click selects a word. Triple-click selects a paragraph. In the left margin - the selection bar, where the pointer becomes a right-leaning arrow - a single click selects a line, a double-click selects a paragraph, and a triple-click selects the entire document. Holding Shift while clicking extends the selection from the cursor to that point, which is the most efficient way to select a long passage. Holding Ctrl while dragging selects several separate pieces of text at once, so scattered items can be formatted together. Holding Alt while dragging selects a rectangular block irrespective of line boundaries - useful for stripping a column of numbers from pasted text. The right mouse button opens the context menu and selects nothing.
