Correct answer: find synonyms and antonyms for a selected word
The Thesaurus suggests synonyms - and often antonyms - for a selected word, so that a repeated or imprecise word can be replaced. It is opened with Shift + F7, or by right-clicking a word and choosing Synonyms. The suggestions are grouped by sense, which matters: a word with several meanings will offer several lists, and choosing from the wrong one produces a sentence that is grammatical but wrong. The tool cannot judge which sense is meant. The distractors name neighbouring tools on the Review tab. Spelling & Grammar, opened with F7, checks correctness. Word Count reports words, characters, paragraphs and pages. Translate renders selected text or the whole document into another language. The Thesaurus should be used with judgement rather than mechanically, since synonyms rarely carry identical connotations - slim, thin and skinny describe the same thing very differently.
