As per Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligence, how would the intelligence of a person with the following characteristics be categorized ?
Characteristics : "Ability to detect and respond appropriately to the moods, temperaments, motivations and, intentions of others."
Answer: C
This is interpersonal intelligence.
In Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, interpersonal intelligence is the capacity to understand other people: to notice and respond appropriately to their moods, temperaments, motivations and intentions. Teachers, counsellors, leaders and salespeople typically show it strongly.
Intrapersonal intelligence is the capacity to understand oneself, one's own feelings and motives, not those of others. Naturalistic intelligence is the ability to recognise and classify plants, animals and other features of nature. 'Therapeutic' is not one of Gardner's intelligences.
