A spherical particle of diameter 10 nm has a surface to volume ratio of
Answer: C
Correct answer: 0.6 nm-1
\[ \frac{S}{V} = \frac{6}{d} = \frac{6}{10} = 0.6\ \mathrm{nm}^{-1}. \] For a sphere the ratio is \( 3/r \), equivalently \( 6/d \). Working with the radius rather than the diameter gives 1.2 and is the usual slip here.
