(ii) Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita replaced the Indian Penal Code
(iii) Bharatiya Sakshya Abhinayam came into effect from July 1, 2024
(iv) The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was passed by the Parliament in December, 2023
Answer: C
Statements (iii) and (iv) are correct, so the answer is (iii) and (iv).
Parliament passed the three new criminal laws in December 2023 (iv), and they received the President's assent on 25 December 2023. All three, including the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (printed Abhinayam), which replaced the Indian Evidence Act, came into force on 1 July 2024 (iii).
Statement (i) is wrong: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita came into force on 1 July 2024, not 1 April 2023. Statement (ii) is wrong: the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita replaced the Code of Criminal Procedure, while the Indian Penal Code was replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
