As per the Sample Registration System (SRS) Statistical Report 2020, released on 22 September 2022 by the Registrar General of India (RGI), what was the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) of India in the year 2020?
Answer: C
The Infant Mortality Rate of India in 2020 was 28 per 1,000 live births, according to the Sample Registration System Statistical Report 2020. It had been 30 in 2019, so the 2020 figure was a fall of two points. The option 30 is therefore the previous year's figure, and 24 and 26 are lower than the reported level. In the same report the urban IMR was 19 and the rural IMR 31, and the rate was 28 for both male and female infants.
