POSHAN Abhiyaan was launched in 2018.
The Prime Minister's Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment, POSHAN Abhiyaan or the National Nutrition Mission, was launched on 8 March 2018 at Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan. It aims to reduce stunting, undernutrition, anaemia and low birth weight among children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
The Cabinet approved it in late 2017, which makes 2017 the trap, but the launch was in 2018. Every September is observed as Poshan Maah under the mission.
