The first Network was called ________
Answer: D
Correct answer: ARPANET
ARPANET, funded by the United States Advanced Research Projects Agency, carried its first message in 1969 between UCLA and Stanford Research Institute and is the direct ancestor of the Internet. It pioneered packet switching in practice and, in 1983, the adoption of TCP/IP. NSFNET came later, in 1985, as the academic backbone that succeeded it.
