'An Essay of Dramatic Poesie' is written by :
Answer: C
An Essay of Dramatic Poesie was written by John Dryden.
Published in 1668, it is a dialogue among four speakers, Crites, Eugenius, Lisideius and Neander (Dryden's own voice), who debate the merits of ancient and modern drama, French and English drama, and rhyme against blank verse. It contains Dryden's famous praise of Shakespeare and is a founding work of English dramatic criticism.
Swift, Addison and Goldsmith wrote criticism too, Addison in the Spectator and Goldsmith in his essay on laughing and sentimental comedy, but the Essay of Dramatic Poesie is Dryden's.
