How many 6’s are there in the following series of numbers which are preceded by 7 but not immediately followed by 9?
6 7 9 5 6 9 7 6 8 7 6 7 8 6 9 4 6 7 7 6 9 5 7 6 3
Answer: C
Correct answer: Three
Three 6s have a 7 before them and something other than 9 after them: 7 6 8, 7 6 7 and 7 6 3. The 6 in 7 6 9 is ruled out by the 9 that follows it. So the count is three.
