Which number is wrong in the given series?
1, 9, 25, 50, 81

The wrong number is 50.
The series is the squares of consecutive odd numbers:
\[ 1^{2}, 3^{2}, 5^{2}, 7^{2}, 9^{2} = 1, 9, 25, 49, 81 \]
So 50 should be 49. The other terms, 1, 25 and 81, all fit the pattern, so none of them is the wrong number.
