The difference between the greatest and smallest 6-digit numbers formed by using the digits 5, 1, 0, 3, 9 and 6 is :
Answer: A
The difference is 861741.
The greatest six-digit number uses the digits in descending order, 965310. The smallest cannot begin with 0, so it starts with the smallest non-zero digit and puts 0 next: 103569.
\[ 965310 - 103569 = 861741 \]
Putting 0 first (035691) would not give a six-digit number, which is the common trap; the other options come from that or from subtraction slips.
